A screen comes asking for a prompt to choose"Whether you want to unstall - yes or no" Someone can help me regarding how to execute the uninstallation of Contivity Client 4. Asked 11 years ago views. Software Deployment Package Development. Posted by: MSIPackager 11 years ago. Have you tried contacting the vendor for support? Posted by: dunnpy 11 years ago. I did a Nortel Contivity package a few years ago, for a previous client, and did have some issues with the uninstallation response file, but got there in the end - I may have checked and modified the contents of the uninstallation response file.
Hope this helps, Dunnpy. Even uninstalling the VPN will usually leave at least some traces behind, and there are plenty more clues to your activities in Windows' various network histories. Most could remain on your system for years. Whether this is any kind of privacy risk depends on your situation. If others have access to your PC, or maybe you're running a VPN on a work computer, maybe; if it's your own system, probably not. Whatever your circumstances, it's interesting to see what a PC might hold regarding your VPN history.
Deleting ancient network remnants brings benefits of its own, too, freeing up resources, simplifying your network settings and maybe reducing the chance of problems occurring with other networking software. Bear in mind that there are risks involved with this kind of low-level clean-up. Accidentally deleting something important could cripple your PC. Be very careful, and don't wipe anything unless your system is fully backed up, and you've got the tools and experience to recover the computer if anything goes wrong.
You can be as thorough — or not — as you like. Start by finding where the program files are stored on your hard drive. There may not be enough free disk space available in the TEMP directory. Cause: You'll get this error sometimes when running installer programs that use InstallShield. The install says "extracting files needed for installation" and then fails with the aforementioned error message.
Re-running the installer usually does not help, but does sometimes. The following suggestion is not a definitive solution - it is known to not work sometimes no matter what you do. It uses TMP. Set both of these variables to different directories, i. And always clean out these directories periodically right after boot for good measure.
Make sure you don't clean them out while other applications are running. Right click on the file name and select "Properties" to get that dialog box. Once you set it to a different location i. Regards, Pankaj Orange.

Also it doesn't require to call your administrator to enable NAT traversal. I just have worked two days on this issue and now problem is resolved.
Please try this and post atleast whether it work for you or not. Saturday, January 19, AM. Thank you for answering. Wednesday, January 23, PM. Hi Nazish, thanks so much for that Just to be specific I'm using Norton Internet security. Cheers, Smiffy PS It didn't actually work at first as I then got a "The connection has been lost" error when attempting to retrieve the banner text from the server.

This is over one year late from the original promised date, and over two years after the introduction of x64 machines into the mainstream marketplace. There must be others having this problem Sunday, April 13, PM.
Saturday, August 2, PM. Thursday, August 28, AM. Sunday, August 31, PM. Any more ideas out there? I really need my VPN!!! Sunday, September 14, PM. Wednesday, October 15, AM. This may be already resolved but it may help someone else who may be having a similar problem. I had to open up outbound UDP port on the Firewall.
Here is the description of what transpired. My company gave us a pre-configured Nortel VPN Client for use on XP but it did not work on Vista, so I downloaded the client for Vista and tried to configure it but I didn't know the information, so I than installed the company one on top of it which did not do anything, it basically looked as if it did not install however, I then installed the updated Nortel one for Vista again on top of that and lo and behold, when I opened up the VPN program almost all of the information was there from the company VPN client.
That is when I came upon the port issue and than fenagled my way through it after much browsing on the internet. Monday, November 3, PM. Worked perfectly. It was working until I installed OneCare which still has a firewall of it's own even though the Windows firewall is off. Saturday, December 6, AM. I have my firewall turned off And the VPN client still will not connect.
